Why Yes, It IS Weird Inside My Head [Jul. 26th, 2007|04:17 am]

If you were given a Doobie Of Great Importance, would you smoke it? Or save it, under the assumption that perhaps you were not the one for whom it was meant, that you are merely the Keeper Of The Doobie Of Great Importance, rather than the Smoker thereof?

I mean, it doesn't have to be a doobie. It could be A Chocolate Chip Cookie of True Significance or The Sugarless Candycane Of Massive Splendor or whatever.

And no, before you ask, I haven't partaken. I rarely partake and it's been quite a while since I partook. This is just where my brain happened to be today.

I am hungry, though. Maybe Jesus wants me to eat some Doritos.

It depends. Is one gifted with said object, or is one entrusted with it?

If you are to be steward to the object - then you must keep it safe. If, on the other hand, you were gifted then consumption is part and parcel of the gift.

A quick check is whether or not the item can expire. If it will loose effectiveness, taste, color, texture, or spoil in some way over time (and it is not expected to be re-gifted; then it cannot be 'frozen' and still appreciated - it must be consumed.

There is then the concept of 'sharing' to be considered...

All you get told is "IT'S THE DOOBIE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE" and that's it.

The rest is up to you.

No equivocating.

Something like that- ought to be shared. More fun that way, too!

What is the point of having a doobie (or a cookie, or a candycane) and not using it?

I'd share it with friends who appreciated it.
