BOSTON COMIC BOOK CONVENTION, Sunday, March 18th, 10am-4pm, $5 admission
Holy crap, the BARE NAKED LADIES have a YouTube account and they know how to use it! Ed recorded a bunch of BNL tunes in his bathroom. There are also other goofy video thingies:(Ganked from matociquala)

And Wirrrn has a few amazing piccies of modified VW Bugs:And he also provided a pointer to a male Red-Capped Manakin doing its mating dance which INCLUDES an absolutely perfect moonwalk move (the only known in nature besides Michael Jackson):
Ellen Kushner (ellen_kushner) is seeking data on people's favorite snack to read the books by... provide her your info as a comment here or through the email address in her user info.

And ganked from that same article is an interesting essay called "Sci-Fi/Fantasy Fan: Chocolate, Spice and Many Things Not So Nice" about food in SF&F by Racheline Maltese.

And if you see a beat up blue scooter anywhere in the Somerville or Cambridge area, let marylu know (per this post). Some jerk stole it from her.

And did you know that whales have nipples? I thought they might, but I wasn't sure. So I asked Google! Also, I don't have a good link for it, but they apparently squirt their milk into the calf's mouth using muscles around the mammary glands. Nature is so cool.

I think the chick describing the bird's walk is cute. :)

Liked the Beetles. The ironwork one is actually at least 20 years old, as I saw its picture a long long time ago.

The Di Rosa Preserve winery in Napa has a very large art collection. With a lot of outdoor sculptures. One sculpture is the world's tallest filing cabinet. 20-plus drawers all in a single tall stack. Which is neat.

What's neater, is that filed inside the drawers is all the parts necessary to make an MG midget. I do not know if they are alphabetical or not.

Yeah, she's a pretty cool chick.

I'm a Beetle freak, so I was quite happy. Interesting to know that some of the pix are that old.

Re: the MG filing cabinet - that's just... wow.

This is not a test.

This has not been a test of the Bare Naked Ladies "OMGYAY!" reaction.

Thank you for posting that.

You are up WAY too late, love.

That's OK, I am too, given that I'm sensing an impending possibility of employment, and I have to reset my brain to discipline itself to actually leaving the apartment in time to get to work.

Yes, I am up way too late and should go to bed...

I hope the impeding possibility shifts to probability and then certainty!
