Addictive little Internet game, ganked from tagryn:

GUESS-THE-GOOGLE: The Image Guessing Game

http://grant.robinson.name/projects/guess-the-google/game.php?l=5

I have yet to break a 300, but I suspect my aphasia has something to do with that. That and I can't spell saké. Der.

But it's a nice practice for battling the "find the word" problems.

A perfect score would be a 400, because there are 10 sets of images and you get 20 points per answer, plus however many seconds are left tacked on.

So if you answer in 17 seconds, you get 37 points (20 points for the answer plus 17 points for the leftover time).

BUT, you still have to type your answer in, so there's no way you could get a 40-point score on a guess. Thus, I would argue that the best possible total score must be a 390. Some guy who goes by KCH (Kevin C. Hansen, I think I saw him put his name up at one point) has managed 383. Damn.

The same sets of images do show up, so you can memorize them. And there's a "first letter" hint for ones you don't get. But I still get new sets of images even though I've played around a dozen times.

Good game. I like it.

I think some of the score is dependent on what set of images you get - 2/3 of the ones I got actually had the search term spelled out as a word in one of the images.

I found that in a list of "really neat websites" from PC Magazine, the article is online there at http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2011050,00.asp
