yes. functionally ending resale on intellectual property, which is what a lot of major corporations are actively working to do, is going to fuck those of us who are worst off.

(although, amusingly, i discovered her writing because of a free ebook that came in last year's hugo voter packet. but because i'm a rich asshole, i decided to support her by picking up a hardcopy. at an indy bookstore.)

I had no idea who she was until after I read the essay & checked out her user info to discover that she's Mira Grant! She wrote two of my all-time favorite zombie novels, FEED and DEADLINE! (Anxiously awaiting the third book.)

Hurray for rich assholes!

And your phrase, "functionally ending resale on intellectual property" made me all scared inside.

i've been reading the series that "one salt sea" is part of since it started. i don't think the characters are all that good, but her writing is very skillful and she created a very engaging world.
