There's a new Tapas Bar in Harvard Square with the improbable name of CONGA at #1 Eliot Street.
Bare bones web site here: http://www.congarestaurant.com/
Pretty tasty! You start with yummy slices of bread and a small crock of hummus with bits of Spanish olives chopped into it.
I got a sammich and a tapas plate.
I didn't realize it til it arrived, but my order came with the soup of the day, corn chowder, which was SO creamy and tasty it blew my mind.
On my tapas plate, they did the traditional potatoes with the mixed creamy & spicy sauce fairly well. The garlicky chicken was delicious. The plantains weren't fried crispy, which is my preference, but that's a style thing rather than a mistake. The plantain dipping sauce was super tasty though.
Also, I could've easily just eaten that for my lunch - I wasn't prepared for the size of the portions. The sammich was ham, cheese, & avocado & it was tasty too, but I could only finish half of it. PLUS it came with a huge side order of fries. Yikes.
They also have ginger beer. I approve! And the whole mess was pretty cheap. And the waitress was awesomely nice. So, thumbs up!
