More Stuff Done [Apr. 11th, 2009|12:54 am]

Not a great week for getting stuff done. I already told ya about Monday. Slept through Tuesday. Totally failed to do anything on Tuesday night, despite planning and hopes.

Got my hair cut on Wednesday, and Maggie was very forgiving of the fact that I was 1.25 hours LATE (I thought the appt. was for 4pm, it was for 3pm, and then I was 15 minutes late for my "4pm appt." AND I got a friggin parking ticket cuz I drove over, trying to not be too late... but it was too late for that), then made it to Garden Club ("the first rule of Garden Club is... MULCH!"). And that's ALL I did, dangit.

Worked at the Picnic Thursday night after oversleeping. Dangit. Got nothing else done.

Today, Friday, woke up around noon (after the alarm went off) and called the Picnic to explain to Tony how I'd gotten irreparably confused while trying to close out the drawer. He fixed it & explained what I should have done. Patient man.

Then, unfortunately, I dozed off again.

BUT, later in the day, I managed to clean a significant part of my office with the gracious help and selfless cheerleading of muffyjo, without whom I would have given up in misery hours early & without completing the portion of the project I really wanted to get done.

Who has two thumbs and is AWESOME?! JO!

(And thank goodness she is forgiving, cuz I woke up about 2 minutes before she arrived.)

We went to Staples beforehand & we used just about every single thing I had carefully purchased (except the doorstop I got for the Somerville Garden Club and the brass fasteners I got for another project). Yay for good shopping lists and planning!

AND, I managed to find several things I was looking for when we cleaned, so double plus good.

Still have to do taxes and about a million things for SOS. Gah! Ugh! Eek!

It's totally overwhelming to do stuff like that on your own! It's true! And I got to borrow a really cool book which I promise will get back to you. Meanwhile, I may have been sitting in the chair and drawing the pretty pictures on the envelopes to make you laugh, but you were the one actually doing the work. Keep that in mind. And one day like that per week is pretty awesome.

I hot glued all those coins we bought at staples together into a pile and painted them gold. Then I decided that there needs to be more...so I think I have a field trip today to Staples again. Still...it looks exactly right. W00t for two success stories from one adventure.

Who has four thumbs and are awesome? US!!
