Kelly J. Cooper
I saw Angelique Kidjo in concert tonight (her website is http://www.kidjo.com) at the Somerville Theater and it was wonderful!
Never have I been so thoroughly worn out by a performer. She so small! But she explodes with energy and enthusiasm - it's amazing. I'd only heard a couple of her songs before (one, "Battu," used to get a LOT of play on "The Playground," a WERS program made up of kids' music on Saturdays and Sundays - you can find it on Putumayo's African Playground collection; the other was on another Putumayo collection) but boy am I glad I decided to go.
Special thanks to miss_chance for making me aware of the concert and picking up the tickets.
And thank you to the germ (or virus) who decided to calm down and fade off after I slept through Friday and most of Saturday. Please continue to let me feel better cuz I don't have time to be sick right now.
