Kelly J. Cooper
I work every day of the week, even if it's only for a few hours. That's really REALLY hard. (I know, I'm a big whiner, but there ya go. It's occupying my mind.)
Friday I worked at MYP. I got in really late (mainly because I stayed up late editing a paper and overslept), which lead to a giant argument with a coworker. Deeply stressful. But I got everyone done I needed to get done, plus a few extra things, so that was good. And I managed to eat a late lunch, including a free sammich, because I finished off my "Buy 10 Get One Free" sammich card from Cardullo's (now discontinued, although they are honoring any cards in process).
Today (Saturday) I tutored from noon to 2:30pm, stopped at the Super 88 nearby on my way back home for a small lunch (and discovered that shrimp and spinach dumplings in that translucent dough, a dish popular in dim sum, are stunningly DELICIOUS) and to buy more frozen pork BBQ steamer buns. Also picked up some canned lychees (because June is too far away), a can of mangosteen (because I'm curious), and some dried banana chips (from those little, extra sweet bananas - tasty).
Went home and made some calls, then headed off for a walk with the BF over to my bank (to deposit a check), then to China Fair, where he bought me a little one-cup teapot (I'd wanted one for a few weeks, so we planned this little trek) and a tea strainer for himself. Then we stopped at Pemberton's and bought interesting snacks before heading home.
The softly falling snow, in giant snowflake clusters, caught on us and melted everywhere, leaving us soaked but not cold.
I made gen mai cha tea in my new pot after the BF washed it (I generally like a medium-to-large cup of green tea every so often). Yum!
Ate some cheese and crackers, drank tea, then headed off to pick rmd and clauclauclaudia up for a movie run. We ran late, so we decided to grab dinner first (making the decision on restaurant choice using magical best friend telepathy), then socialized with some friends we found at our favorite sushi place (we went to their apartment(s) and I learned a LOT about manga), before finally heading off to see Cloverfield at the Fenway theater.
I'd taken a motion sickness pill in advance, but the camera work still gave me a bit of a headache. It was intense and quite well-done. Startled me in a few places - also scared me in couple of those and one other. I like the viral marketing, and the leftover story bits. Clever stuff.
Also, hooray for marvelous companions, tasty dinner, and bonus socializing! It's been so long! (For me, at least. Gah. Need more friend time.)
Now I gotta crash so that (hopefully) Sunday doesn't turn into a miserable quagmire of desperately trying to stay awake at MYP all afternoon & evening.
Then editing. Then work at MYP on Monday. More editing. Circlet. Editing. MYP. Tutoring. MYP. Editing. MYP. That's what my life looks like. At least I've paid some bills. The only problem is the damn things keep coming.
