QUESTION TO PARENTS (and students): If I wanted to market to you that I can edit your son or daughter's college application essay and act as a writing coach, what would be the best way to reach you? Does your PTA have a newsletter? Is there some space where information swapping happens?

SUNDAY is Rabbit Hole Day (rabbitholeday). Getcher keyboards ready.

I adapted an email from someone on the Boston Comics Roundtable list into a posting on millionyear about comics-related events coming up over the next six months. Feel free to add data if you have it, especially on local events.

Cecilia Tan (ceciliatan) has announced a Future of Valentine's Day writing contest over on circletpress and at the website, http://www.circlet.com. It's only gotta be 250-1,000 words! You can do it! And you could win a free copy of Best Fantastic Erotica as well as a publishing credential! (She'll put the winner up on the blog of course, for all to see and enjoy.)

This Astronomy Picture of the Day from France is just stunning. Wow.

Laurie wrote an amazing post on the state of human rights and social justice in Africa here: http://hammercock.livejournal.com/795856.html Go read it.

This is a really fine example of YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

If you like police procedurals, especially ones heavy on forensics/serial murders, and you also like good writing and supernatural stuff, you MUST read http://www.shadowunit.org/. There are easter eggs everywhere. I haven't had a chance to ferret out more than one or two. If you want to share clues and finds, let me know.

This reminds me - would it be ok to put a small blurb ad into St. John's Gadfly - the student newspaper that comes out weekly? All of the freshman, sophmores & juniors will be writing their essays in March/April.

My old high school seems to have a website where alums can post 3 free lines of any sort on the Connections & Services page. I could put it there too :)

Thanks for the pointer to shadowunit - I just pulled it up and am already entranced. I'll keep you posted on any clues/finds as I go along

I would be delighted for you to put a blurb in the Gadfly, thanks!

You are good to me!

Do keep me up to date on Shadow Unit!
