Wrongness [May. 24th, 2011|11:35 pm]

Just wanted to jot down a couple of thoughts on things I suspect are either broken in my head or related to the brokenness:
  • Boredom is worse than death
  • Can't count more than 3 zeroes or 3 ones without using my finger to block them out/count them off
  • Attention span is short
  • Time is wicked fluid and seems to grow and shrink
  • I have a lot of difficulty estimating how long something will take so I am always late
  • I have no idea when things happened; coulda been 3 months ago, coulda been 3 years
  • No sense of my own self
  • Constantly scanning around me; eyes drawn to movement
  • Concentration on things is hard, unless I love it
  • If I love something, I concentrate so hard I literally can't understand the words people say until I've fully detached my concentration from the object of my attention
  • Aphasia
  • Can't remember names or dates for crap
  • General memory problems with miscellaneous data; can only really remember data if it has a plot line, then I never forget it
  • Depressed & unmotivated
  • Pile things up
  • Forget stuff that's out of my sight
  • Lots of procrastination
  • Complete & total lack of recognizable (or neat) organization
  • Broken self-esteem
  • Lack of physical coordination
  • Lots of daydreams
  • Hypersomnia & general fatigue
  • Anxiety
  • Feelings of being an extreme outsider
  • Hypersensitivity to some social cues; oblivious to others
  • Difficulty with impulse control, particularly when it comes to buying things
  • Dislike of traditional feminine stuff (make-up, uncomfortable clothes with no pockets, hair-do effort, uncomfortable shoes)

Don't freak out. I'll try & list things I'm good at tomorrow or later in the week.

Thank you for this list. I'm not in all of these, but some of them, and it helps to have them here. Not freaking out for you, my friend - so proud of you for listing these. It couldn't have been easy, and you rock for doing this! Hurray for you!!!

Not meant to contradict you or anything, but for me, when I'm at the point of having trouble counting a series of digits like you mention, it's time for me to set an appointment with the eye doctor -- I'm getting to that stage again and it happens every 3 years or so. As soon as the new prescription lenses arrive it gets better (I have astigmatism). It might not be your case, but it might be worth a try.

Hugs!

wrongness thinky things

Can we re-frame some of that as your normal - especially the part about concentrating and not understanding someone until you disengage - sounds normal to me. Also - time is wicked fluid.

Some of that might be a matter of degree more than a binary thing. Lots of those things don't sound terribly abnormal to me, although I'm willing to believe that the extent to which you experience them is a problem.

For whatever it is worth - many of those things don't seem abnormal to me. Also, a few of them sort of make me wonder if you've had your eyes checked?

And I love you just as you are ... you do many things well and I hope you put being a good friend on the next list.
