Wednesday's Work [Feb. 3rd, 2011|12:03 am]

No 15 minutes today.

I did manage to get up before the sun set. Ate breakfast, went out & shoveled the back walk, shoveled the path to my car, and then cleaned it off. Started it up just for amusement value. (New Battery FTW!)

Once the BF fired up the snowblower, I headed to the bottom of our little side street to get out of the way and clear the sewer there. It's in front of the house on the other side of the little side street from us, but our neighbors don't clear it, so we do. The bottom of our side street ends on a low point in our bigger street (Linden), so we regularly clear leaves and ice out of the sewer to let collected water drain.

The BF had already reopened the channel when he got home; I widened it (Ice Chopper FTW!), deepened the channel down to the pavement, and cleared almost all of the surface of the sewer grate. We've been leaving a snow berm buttress hovering over it to try & keep people from parking on it & blocking it completely. I managed to reduce Lake Linden to Linden Pond and Slush Fund.

Grabbed a shower afterward and then ran two loads of laundry through while the BF made us corn chowder (from scratch). Yum. Then I watched Human Target and L&O: SVU.

Kept half an ear on the radio & occasionally channel surfed over to the news to watch Egypt's situation much of the late afternoon & evening. Mind-blowing stuff there.

Going to bed early.

Thanks! Ruined it today, though. Hope to make up for it Friday & Saturday.

Or come up with a more balanced perspective on getting stuff done.
