A list:
  • Epilepsy or any other neurological anomaly
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Uterine cancer
  • Breast cancer
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (edited to replace "Epstein-Barr")
  • Hiatal hernia
  • Apnea
  • Restless Leg Syndrome
  • Hepatitis B
  • HIV
  • Cancer of the thyroid
  • Heart murmur
  • Wheat allergy
  • General Northeastern regional allergies (except ragweed and certain adhesives)
  • Lactose intolerance
  • Glaucoma
  • Detached retina

This is a list of ...

...things I have been tested or evaluated for and do not have.

I AM allergic to ragweed and certain adhesives.

The list of things I DO have is much longer, but none are fatal or directly linked to causing my sleep problems.

another thought - you have had Mono - isn't Chronic Fatigue Syndrome a sort of sometimes fallout from Mono? Very difficult to diagnose - didn't see that on the list.

Re: disease

CFS is usually associated with Epstein-Barr virus, which is the virus that causes mononucleosis. There are other things associated with E-B virus, and current theory has it that CFS, fibromyalgia, and a few other things are actually at least related, if not actually the same thing expressing itself slightly differently in differnet people.

One concept I've heard is that episodes of CFS have intensity related to how intensely you suffered while you had mononucleosis.

It's also a fact that mono is nothing more serious than a bad cold in pre-pubescent people. That its' only absolutely awful after the physical changes of puberty. I can attest to at least two anecdotes of that, as I have antibodies for mono and have never to my memory had anything like it, and my Younger Child had confirmed mono about 2 years ago and was up and running again after about 4 days with no problem.
